Building here is generally cheaper than Bali. Skilled craftsmen, raw hardwood and the yard are all in the same place, so less is shipped and less is marked up.
The 10 to 18 month window covers design finalisation, hull construction, interior fit-out and sea trials, and moves with size and specification.
Designed for These Waters
Komodo has strong currents, tight anchorages and long open crossings between the good sites. A hull drawn somewhere else compromises on at least one of those.
Our shipwrights sail here, so the draught, the tender arrangement and the deck layout come from watching boats work rather than from a specification sheet.
Dive operations get compressor rooms, tank storage and platforms designed in from the start.
