Design and Architecture
Two to four months. Lines plan, structure and 3D design.

Design and interiors
Naval architecture through to the last piece of joinery, drawn before anything is cut.
Start Your ProjectWe take a phinisi from naval architecture through to finished interior in Labuan Bajo, combining traditional hull craft with cabin design and joinery specified entirely by the client.
The programme
Four phases, each finished and approved before the next starts. The numbers are what a typical build actually takes.
Two to four months. Lines plan, structure and 3D design.
Six to ten months. Keel, frames and planking.
Four to six months. Fit-out, electrics and plumbing.
One month. Engine trials, stability checks, handover.
Interior work is where a phinisi stops being a hull and becomes somebody's boat.
En-suite layouts sized to the guests or family aboard.
Living space specified around how you actually use her.
Working kitchen, laid out for the crew who will run it.
Bespoke cabinetry in teak and marine ply, cut on site.
A hardwood phinisi in Eastern Indonesia takes 10 to 18 months end to end, which is the sum of the four phases above rather than an estimate.
Cost varies with size, design complexity, materials and how bespoke the fit-out is. Those four are itemised separately in every quotation.
Most clients arrive with references rather than drawings. Turning that into something buildable is the first job, and it is done with you rather than presented to you.
Traditional craftsmanship sets what the hull can do; modern design decides what the inside of it feels like.
Materials are sustainably sourced, which on a fit-out mostly means the teak you can see and the ply you cannot.
Design work happens over months and mostly at a distance. It only works with a clear process.
Nothing is cut before the plan is signed off.
Each of the four phases closed out before the next opens.
A single point of contact across architects and trades.
Send us your references and the way you intend to use her. Design is where the money is either saved or wasted.
